Martina Antifay earned gold medals in the 300m and 500m events as well as a silver medal in the team pursuit event. She placed third overall in the 14 year old division.

Cameron Thomas skated three personal best times, Rebecca Thomas recorded two personal best times and Leah Turner and Martina Antifay each skated one personal best time at the Long Track Championships. Great job representing British Columbia, guys!

Another Academy session was held in Kamloops yesterday with Coach Al McIlveen from the Calgary Olympic Oval.

Meanwhile, ten members of the Kamloops Long Blades presented a speed skating demonstration at Sun Peaks Resort yesterday. The snowfall stopped just long enough for the skaters to race and show off their push relay skills on impeccable ice at the outdoor rink at the resort.

Experience the Speed!

It’s National Speed Skating Week and we will be holding a special event during the Cheetah practice. If you know of any child 4-11 years of age that would be interested in trying speed skating February 19, please have them reserve their spot by sending an email to kamloopslongblades@gmail.com
